Thank you for visiting our store.
NOTE: The printed material for sale in the Store on this website belongs to the Lapeer County Genealogical Society (LCGS or Society). The donated material was given with the intention of Society taking ownership and copyright. The material is intended for private family research and NEVER to be considered for the Internet exposure. Whenever Society materials are being displayed or printed, a statement should accompany this material stating it belongs to the LCGS. Click the link to review the Lapeer County Genealogical Society Board Policies and Procedures and Permission Form for the detailed document description of the "Terms of Use and Copyright Policy" and the Permission Form.
The number of listings per page for the LCGS Store is set to 250 items, but that number can be modified by using the drop-down menu on the page. It is best to select one category option at a time from the "Filter by Category" drop-down menu below to narrow the search results.
Payment for all purchases need to be paid by check or money order and mailed to the address on the Contact web page or the address on the form itself located on the Forms web page.
All items and resources that the Society offers for sale can either be purchased by either:
- Clicking the Forms web page and selecting the appropriate form which has instructions on payment and mailing.
- Clicking on the Store web page and using the online form. A valid mailing and email address is required to make a purchase from the Store. When using the Store web page, click the " Add to Cart" button for the first item for purchase. Click the " Continue Shopping" button to add additional items. After all selections are made, click the " Checkout" button. The cart item(s) will be displayed. The Payment method " Check with Mail-in Form" is the payment option. The Society also accepts money orders for online orders.
NOTE: There is a Security Code/Place Order section on the Order Form. Click the empty box next to the "Check box & enter code". A 4-digit code will be displayed which must enter in the empty green box. Click the "Place Order" button. This is an internal security feature to prevent fraudulent orders.
IMPORTANT LAST STEP to complete order: Be sure to click the "Place Order" button. A new window will open and the order number is displayed. A message appears "To complete your order, click the link below ("Print Order Confirmation") and then mail the printed form in with your payment." The Print Order Confirmation is the Sales Order which shows the order and price to be mailed to the address on the invoice.
There are two delivery options for receiving the purchases:
- Books and gifts will be sent by U.S. mail and shipping and postage charges will be applied.
- Publications and Research Services can either be sent:
(1) Electronically (pdf file via email) - No shipping charges (cheapest method and preferred method); or
(2) By U.S. Mail - The price per copy of the mailed items is based on the number of pages and postage costs. Copies that are mailed will be printed in black ink on double sided plain paper.
- Research Services and Obituary Lookups for Lapeer County is offered by LCGS Volunteers - Restricted to information located in the LCGS Research Center and/or Internet. Research Services cannot be purchased in the LCGS Store. Click the link for the Research Services Forms located on the "Forms" webpage.
All proceeds for all Store purchases and Research go directly to the financial support of the Lapeer County Genealogical Society.

Pioneer Families and History of Lapeer County, Michigan
Pioneer Families and History of Lapeer County, Michigan by J. Dee Ellis. This book contains cadastral maps from the year 1874 for each township, the history of approximately 200 original settlers with family still in the county, the early history of the county and townships, and some cemetery information. This hard cover reprint of the 1978 publication contains 232 pages, plus 15,000 names indexed. Reprinted in 2004.
We have a limited number of copies of this out-of-print book and it will no longer be available once all copies are sold.

Lapeer Genealogy Family Research Service by the Hour
Volunteers at the Lapeer Genealogical Soceity offer genealogy research services for Lapeer County. Searches are restricted to information located in the LCGS Research Center or Internet.
Please provide as much information as possible so volunteers can process your request. Every reasonable effort will be made to locate obituaries, but we cannot guarantee that your requested information can be found.
The cost is $10.00 per hour (1 hour minimum) and the look-up fees are non-refundable. The information can be sent either:
- By email in the form of a PDF file and is the preferred delivery method as it does not require any additional fees.
- By U.S mail, and the additional costs will be based on the number of pages and postage costs.
On-Line Ordering cannot be done for this service and therefore shows "Out of Stock".

Local Genealogy Obit Research
Volunteers at the Lapeer County Genealogical Society offer research services for local obituaries. Searches are restricted to information located in the LCGS Research Center and/or Internet.
Please provide as much information as possible so volunteers can process your request. Every reasonable effort will be made to locate obituaries, but we cannot guarantee that your requested information can be found.
The cost is $5.00 per obituary and the look-up fees are non-refundable. The obituary can either be sent either:
- By email in the form of a PDF file and is the preferred delivery method as it does not require any additional fees.
- By U.S mail and requires one, size #10, Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope (SASE). When ordering multiple obituaries, it is necessary to include one envelope for every (4) obituaries.

The Lapeer Legacy Newsletters from 1983-Current are available for purchase. Volume 1 of each year will include the front cover page for the entire year.
On-Line Ordering cannot be done for this service and therefore shows "Out of Stock".
Since each Volume of the Legacy has a different number of pages, the attached Lapeer Legacy form needs to be completed with your request for the Volume/Number of the Lapeer Legacy that you want to purchase. The volunteer will review your request and let you know the cost and will follow up with you.
Copies will be sent via email in the form of a PDF file or by U.S. Mail. Copies sent by email will either be black and white or color, based on when they were published. Copies sent by U.S. mail will cost more due to printing, postage and handling costs. All mailed copies will be printed in black and white and are printed double-sided on plain page.

Rich Township, Lapeer County, Michigan - Cemetery Records (Mailed Copy)
In 1991 gravestone transcriptions of all known cemeteries in the county were published by the township. Gravestone inscriptions were the major source of information; however, in a few cases they were combined with sexton’s records.
