The book Pioneer Families and History of Lapeer County, Michigan by J. Dee Ellis contains cadastral maps from the year 1874 for each township, the history of approximately 200 original settlers with family still in the county, the early history of the county and townships, and some cemetery information. This hard cover reprint of the 1978 publication contains 232 pages, plus 15,000 names indexed. Reprinted in 2004.
